The painting process

Kristina Bailey's From Sketch to Painting

Portrait of a Dress in Process by Kristina Bailey

I thought it would be fun to share some of the steps leading up to a finished wedding dress portrait.  My process begins with a pencil sketch on archival water color paper then three to four layers of watercolor are painted until dress details and draping start to take shape.  Pigma archival ink pens are the tool of choice to outline and finesse the details.  Once finished, the painted portrait is matted, packaged and shipped!
